What is Ptree — Interactive Tree of Life?
Ptree is the new work of Michael Dayah, creator of Ptable (the periodic-table site used in classrooms for decades): the whole tree of life as an interactive web page — click to expand branches, filter by dozens of traits (body size, lifespan, habitat…), and switch between tree, branch and trait-column views, all driven by open databases like GBIF and NCBI. For front-end folks the reason to keep it is the interaction itself: expanding, filtering and view-switching across massive hierarchical data stays silky-smooth — a rare benchmark for interactive data visualization.
